Hrm.
The pieces for Megan's dad's new machine are strewn across my desc, some of them stacked atop the old Mac SE. It's not much of a computer, but it's half decent as a seat or table. What the hell, a use for everything, right? I've spent the last six hours chasing down drivers for the Biostar M7MKE that's to be at the heart of the machine, and am going to start downloading the install files I'll need for it and burning a CD for the silly thing. I've got three pages of notes on pinouts and header locations, since I always seem to need the stuff at the last minute. I need to put the Athlon/WinXP system back into my little cluster, since it's got the CDRW in it, burn out the final disc(s), and then yank it back out to do the actual OS install on the new machine; Microsoft's 'Windows Update' is fairly painless, if a bit slow... but it's absolute hell via modem. I need to gather the rest of the pieces and start the actual assembly. Mainboard and pullout are to my left, CDROM and floppy drive to my right... case, hard drive, video card, and modem on the other side of the room.
Hrm. Need to run to the store; the cpu fan/sink I have won't fit behind the capacitors. *sighs softly* At least I can get one fairly cheap not far from here. Gotta go. Back in a bit.
