No. I'm not going to comment on President Weed and his multinational witchhunt, his advocation of a second 'war', or on the fact that he's a prime reason why inbreeding should be outlawed. I'll also not comment on the fact that he's attempting to 'postpone' the November elections, or that he's apparently got the IQ of a rotting turnip (though I suspect that statement would mandate a public apology to the rotting turnips of the world for casting aspersions on them). I'm also going to refrain from again stating the dangers of having a theocratic minded wanna-be demagogue in office, and point out the steady erosions of civil rights that've occured during his administration. I'm even going to resist the impulse to note that 'he embarassed mah daddy' is not sufficient grounds to begin what is in essence an Imperialistic invasion of other nations, regardless of how poorly they treat their own citizens. And in a supreme effort of self control, I will refrain from again stating that hatred is -not- a family value, nor should it be the foundation of a political platform.

Wow. All this self control is hard. I should be careful; with so much effort devoted to being civilized and non-aggressive, I risk being branded a conservative threat to the 'president' that I didn't vote for... who stole an election with the help of his incompetent Governor relative. I think I'll go 'support terrorism' by staunchly supporting our troops abroad, but still believing in my heart of hearts that the so-called Commander in Chief is an incompetent, hate mongering buffoon with delusions of godhood.... and have a cigarette. I no longer worry that smoking will kill me; my 'president' seems to want to do that job himself.

as for the "must have more books" urges, oi vay, we sure as hell can relate on *that* one ;-)

knitting up bookmarks is fun because the work goes so quickly (good if you are like us and want to finish something now now NOW) ;-)... knitting one might take a couple hours at most, as opposed to a month or so to finish a sweater...

just knit it as long as you like, finish it off anyway you want (we put a little tassel on Christy's, but you could just leave a plain cast-off edge)... and wet the bookmark in some starchy water... let it dry laying flat (maybe pinned out tight if you want to open up a lacy middle).. and then a press with a warm iron... and you're finished..
