Mew mew. *cuddle* It's a simple fact that the simplest way to control the people is to win them over (something that's arguably another failure for leafboy) and then tell them your opponents are the Enemy.
Bush thinks I'm the enemy. I'm Canadian, queer, non-Christian, and, worst of all, I think he's a pinhead puppet.
*snerk* I'm a non-Christian (as Weed defines it), bisexual transsexual, registered Libertarian... one that the FBI and NSA -both- maintain files on due to my 'hunting work in the early nineties. Which makes me literate, educated, street-savvy, sniper qualified courtesy of a brief stint with the US Army, proven capable of pulling the trigger when necessary, vocal, and quasi-militant.
Weed has nightmares about people like me. < /arrogant bravado > *giggles* At least I like to think so. It helps me sleep at night. :p
Now if I can only keep them from finding out that I'm really just a ball of fluff that'd rather try on pretty dresses than argue politics, maybe I'll have something. And that, and $1.04, will buy me a cup of coffee at Denny's. :)
*peers* Wow. TWO knitters. Um... right this second, as much as I -DO- want to learn... given the upcoming bankruptcy stuff, hunting for an apartment, and moving all the salvagable stuff out of this shathole of a house ... well, my plate's kinda full. :(
C'n I prod one or both of you once things calm down? Pwease?
as for the "must have more books" urges, oi vay, we sure as hell can relate on *that* one ;-)
knitting up bookmarks is fun because the work goes so quickly (good if you are like us and want to finish something now now NOW) ;-)... knitting one might take a couple hours at most, as opposed to a month or so to finish a sweater...
just knit it as long as you like, finish it off anyway you want (we put a little tassel on Christy's, but you could just leave a plain cast-off edge)... and wet the bookmark in some starchy water... let it dry laying flat (maybe pinned out tight if you want to open up a lacy middle).. and then a press with a warm iron... and you're finished..
You missed that one? Oh, you're really get a kick out of this one, sweetie. I will note that the 'idea' has since been discarded, but it got ENTIRELY too much 'consideration' before the growing public outrage killed it.
