Surveying the damage.

Several folks asked for a list of what'd been boosted. It's HERE.
For those that did click in, this is the rundown of what I've found to be missing...
The PS2 was one of the larger-sized original production run, complete with the ethernet adapter. Do they even make them anymore? I might be able to find one at a used game store... there's one over in Annapolis I should check this weekend.
It vanished along with both of the MadCatz wireless controllers and the pair of traditional wired controllers (also MadCatz). Why MadCatz? The controllers are a bit larger than the stock Sony rigs, and better suited to my meaty paws.
Five PS1 memory cards
Five PS2 memory cards
***One off-brand 'high compression' memory card. I only used it successfully once and won't repeat the mistake. It was a pure PitA.
I've managed to dredge up the names of most of the games. I'm going to assume at this point that the handful I'm missing were games I hadn't gotten around to peeking at. The ones that I've come up with are:
What's so frustrating about this mess is the seeming randomness in the 'also taken' category. My 'smut' collection was savaged. My copy of The Incredibles is gone. They took some of my pillow cases (likely to carry the PS2 stuff in). They messed with the tiny wooden chest that holds Vickie's ashes. A duffel bag of leather goods with some adult toys mixed in. Two computers stolen, one of which was half hidden behind one of the unused piggy cages. Why would anyone steal my Win7 beta machine?! Why steal my G3? Both of the Ultra320 SCSI drives I had were in it... it was going to go back to being my music server. I'd spent weeks tuning the UI to be exactly what I wanted, a steampunk'd Torchwood theme. Beautiful if I do say so myself. A damned pity I don't remember how I did most of it.
I was told about an hour or so ago that a machine to replace the G3 had been posted out to me... thank you, Fox. I can't begin to properly express my thanks.
There's other stuff missing; some art work, a couple of daggers that had serious sentimental value, rummaged stereo gear. I'm still rattled about the whole thing, and now I can't find my damned receipt for the door. I'm praying that Crystal picked it up while she was over. Please, God, let that be the case. And thus ends the naming of the lost, at least for the moment.
Anyone that wasn't interested can ignore it, as the rest of this posting will be in the clear. The replacement door is in, but there's still a lot of work that needs to be done. While it's completely finished from a structural standpoint, there's a LOT of cleanup that needs to be done this weekend. We need some dry weather, please. If anyone's got that on tap I'd much appreciate sending it my way.
I'm off to bed. Maybe I'll sleep.

.hack//InfectionThere're four in there that're billed as 'must haves'... they're at the head of my list to replace. Yeah, I have favorites.
.hack//Mutation
.hack//Outbreak ... I still haven't gotten past the first one, but #2 and #3 were gifts. I'd been looking forward to making a concerted effort on them. My meds are better balanced now, so I'm not as easily confused.
Sheep - Must have. I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved this warped, twisted little game.
Bust A Groove - Must have. I've been listening to the music trying to cheer up.
Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
... they're fun, but they're not the priority.
Crash Team Racing - Must have. It's one of the few games I can interest both Crystal and Lauren in, and maybe Kelly too.
Final Fantasy. The single biggest hit. I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, Tactics. And all my save games. *sigh* FF Chronicles covers FF IV. FF Origins covers I & II. FF Anthology covers V & VI. The rest are single purchases. These slot in behind the quartet of musts. I loves me some Final Fantasy, but I've gotta get my Sheep-y Groove on, you know what I'm sayin?
Suikoden. Another hit. III, IV, V, Tactics. I never actually got a chance to -play- any of them, so I have no idea where they should be on my priority list.
Xenosaga I & II. Started but never finished. Will have to start over.
Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: Second Offense. Possibly the best vehicular combat games I've ever played... the second is a Must Have, the first is a want to replace eventually.
Flat Out. The kamikaze olympic-like games were amusing as hell.
Arcade's Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1 -&-
Namco Museum Volume 1. Compilations of older arcade games that I enjoyed. Neither are critical, but fun none the less.

...why would they steal (presumably) used sex toys? That's just weird.

Date: 2009-05-07 01:08 am (UTC)Sapphi has a copy of Sheep somewhere I think, but it's in the closet of doom and I'd have to ask her what she wants to do with it.
Crash Team Racing can be found in just about any used game store.
