It's been a day of ups and downs, some of which are public and some quite private.
Yesterday morn my computer threw a shoe... the 80gig drive that had originally been my music storage (and had since been used for video storage, since the music library outgrew it) spun its last. There's no money to replace it, and I thought it'd taken my Torchwood season 1 archive with it. About a half hour ago, while chasing half forgotten directories, I located the original rips; at least that much is safe. Losing 80g of storage and my frantic hours spent compacting the former inhabitants of the failing drive into the other already overloaded volumes was taxing. I'm going to be doing a lot of DVD burns over the next couple of weeks. :/

Today... today was rough. I got almost no sleep last night due to nightmares plaguing me. No, I'm not going to go into detail; I've spent enough time crying over them. And being brushed off by my therapist. That helped EVER so much. Gee, thanks, Omni. *offers the single finger salute*

Today also marked the passing of Gary Gygax. Anyone that knows me knows how much time I've spent gaming down through the years; I'd always wanted to meet him and never had the chance. His presence will be missed. :( Rest well, Wizard.

I did get to spend some time with an old and dear friend this evening, and it brightened up my outlook more than a little. Finding the thought-gone-forever Torchwood eps was another bright bit.

All things considered, I think 'bittersweet' sums up the day. I'm going to attempt to get some sleep now, since I work an afternoon shift tomorrow.

*hugs*

Losing a disk is always frustrating at best - and traumatic at worst.

I wouldn't think Torchwood is something you'd worry about being 'gone forever' - it's easily obtainable on the intertubes (or, here, in shops).

Yes, but my downloading focus is currently on several now-out-of-print anime series for my niece. Locating them saves me a huge ton of hassle. Losing the drive is far and away the larger problem; I wasn't quite ready to start doing archival burns of things yet. My timeline seems to have been advanced.
