May. 7th, 2004 03:46 pmToday seems to be a day for riding the fence. Every now and then, when I go through the various webquizzies, there'll be a question where there are two answers that are appropriate, but only one can be selected. 95% of the time, it doesn't change anything. Today.... today I've got quizzes where that one answer makes a vast difference. First up:
![]() Gabriel. You're most like the ArchAngel of Communication, in charge of things like telephones, libraries, internet, and the 411 phone menu. You're organised and are not shy about inflicting that organisation on others. Which ArchAngel are you most like? brought to you by Quizilla | ![]() Lucifer. The most misunderstood of all the ArchAngels, you're most like the ArchAngel of Light. You've seen the darkside and have opted for something better. You need better press, though chances are no one will really understand your motives. Which ArchAngel are you most like? brought to you by Quizilla |
The difference? The question 'What's your element?... Fire is the strongest usable element... but Water is where my strength lies. Unfortunately, I also seem to be highly ALLERGIC to water workings, hence the fallback on Fire (which is nearly as potent). I'm not crazy about where that puts me.
Anyway, next:
![]() You seem older than your years, like a wise sage. Your head always either buried in a book, or discussing what you have learned with others, you are Thoth. The creator of writting, and language, you are full of wisdom. When you talk, people listen, knowing they will learn something new. Which Ancient Egyptian Diety are you? brought to you by Quizilla | ![]() You are the most worshipped godess in all of Egypt. You are a great protector, a mother type. People appeal to you for guidance and direction. You fight for what you love, and rarely take no for an answer. You are Isis. Which Ancient Egyptian Diety are you? brought to you by Quizilla |
For this one, the question that seems to make the difference is: Your friends and family are most likely to describe you as:. From what I've been told, there are (again) two answers there that apply... with a pretty substantial difference. It's not as vast a gulf as the first one, but it's still quite large.
Next up is a Chakra quizzie...
| Root: under-active (-69%) Sacral: open (38%) Navel: under-active (-38%) Heart: open (19%) Throat: open (50%) Third Eye: over-active (63%) Crown: under-active (6%) | ||||||||||||||
| Here's the Chakra stuffus... | |||||||||||||||
Hrm. Well, that's interesting. *shrugs* I already knew I wasn't balanced, so this isn't exactly news, but it's still interesting. For the most part, it's accurate... until you get to the Crown. *peers at the chart and numbers again* Well, maybe it's accurate as well. Given where Root and Navel are at, the numbers are probably right. Ah well.
This one... I really like this one. It took me some time to get it right, but I'm very pleased with the layout and results:

Other things I've found that were worth looking at....
Erwin Olaf - Click into the site and look around. Of particular interest, click into 'Personal Portfolio' and then into 'Royal Blood'.
'Just a Pack of Cards', by lucyfair - I /really/ like this one, even though some folks thing it's a little 'creepy'. I think it's spiff.
Smile by maladjust - This one... this one gets the prize for creepiest (and nearly horrifying) flash animation I've ever seen anywhere. As someone who historically has NEVER fit in, this one... ouch.
Banana Phone - This one's a two parter. First, watch this flash animation for a bit. Once it's worked it's way into your brain, then go to part two: It BURNS! - WARNING! Language and Violence, Probably NOT Work Safe.
For those folks that're still reading after all of that, today... is proving to be a very slow day. An incoming thunder storm's got my hips and knees screaming, and I'm pretty much non-mobile today. I've got the machine I'm building for my Mom mostly put together; I need to scavenge a floppy drive from one of the hulks in my bedroom. The case has a faceplate built in, so it doesn't matter if the floppy's missing it... which happens to be the condition of the one in my room. I'm alert today, which is a definite improvement over yesterday. I'm hoping it's the beginning of a trend; there's a lot of stuff that needs doing around here, and I need my wits about me.
I'm curious what the Levoxyl will do; I've been told by several folks that the effects will be widespread and potent, on everything from weight to energy. So I'm just being a good little camper and taking it as told... and wondering. I figure I'll know in a couple weeks, and if it does even half of what I've been told then I'm all for it.
I'm hoping this storm front rolls through quickly. My desk has become an utter disaster, and it desperately needs to be cleaned up. I've been doing what I can from a seated position, but there're places I can't /reach/ from here (like the stuff up on top of the G3, which sits on top of the Athlon 2000+ system), and it's all starting to annoy me. Time to get all the software and music back up into the rack, and sort the mountain of paperwork. *blinks, upon discovering a pair of socks /inside/ the Athlon* Okay, it's WAY past time to clean. Amazing the things that turn up. If I can get this mess sorted out, I could actually get the sideplate back onto the Athlon's case.
Anyway, I'll wrap this entry and try and get what I can reach fixed.
*hugs*
