Okay, that's enough of that. Chatted for a bit with a close friend about my DSL woes... and telling of the attempted parts swaps I'd tried reminded me to call the fellow I'd used as a test dummy.... only to discover that his DSL was now doing the same things. Hrm. And then my neighbor pops in for a visit and notes that my DSL modem is a different model from the one he got sent. Interesting. A quick search online turned up SEVERAL sites listing the problems with the model I had, mostly involving overheating and chip separation. A bit of finagling later, and I have a shiny new DSL modem, of the -current- model, and it seems to be working just fine. Maybe this will finally end the connectivity issues.
I'm sunburned. On my forehead, cheeks (the upper ones you nits), and the backs of my hands. Itches. Grr.
And I'm hungry, so I'm off to forage. *blows kisses and vanishes*
