Dec. 18th, 2003 09:21 pmNo, I'm not dead. Honest. :p
My mood's not bad, but... I've been moving pretty slowly the last few days. My left hip is ... not cooperating, and it makes sitting at the computer (or sitting anywhere or standing or walking) kinda painful. But I don't want folks to worry, so I'm posting. I can however offer a link to what may be the funniest comic I've ever read: the Jun 21, 2001 edition of It's Walky!.
There's really very little else going on. :P

Date: 2003-12-19 04:22 am (UTC)As for the article: I've always known they've used tactics akin to terrorism; trying to provoke a psychological response to their goal.
If they're so concerned about people wearing fur coats, maybe they should just offer their own hides to the tanners instead?
1) it would definitely provoke a psychological response.
2) it would raise awareness about the processes involved in creating furs and leather.
3)it would greatly reduce the number of PETA fanatics out there!
PETA :P
Date: 2003-12-19 07:57 am (UTC)Not suprised about PETA. They've been protesting malls in our area that sell fur coats/coats with fur trim. There was a big article about it in our local paper, the lady said the only people that should wear fur were Eskimos. How she singled them out to wear fur, who knows? She seems a bit....off anyways.
I love animals, and when I give money to charities that help them, it's never PETA. I think they should address the problem of pet overpopulation/spaying and neutering more than wearing fur. But, that's just me.
