Aug. 29th, 2003 10:19 pmMegan's home. The doctor checked her over thoroughly, and pronounced her fit to travel. I've a list of things to watch for, and she'll be needing considerable help for the next week or two, but she should be on the mend. My sister's currently on her way up here with a bed frame to get Megan's bed up off the floor and to a height she can get in and out of while she mends.
I'm beat. But intact. Things are on the mend. Thank you, all of you, for the well wishes and prayers; I can't even begin to say what they mean to me.
Once Leah's here and the frame is physically in the house, I've got to go to the store and do a shopping run for the restricted diet Megan's on while Leah's here to help her if she needs it.
Financially, this is... a nightmare that's just beginning. The doc had a $150 upfront fee, but has agreed to hold all of the rest of his charges until we find out if she qualifies for Medical Assistance... because once again there's no insurance. Her hours last month came in 2 hours under the 'insurance minimum' for her temp agency because of a slump in work at her assignment... so her insurance is 'suspended'. Given the 'quality' of the 'benefits' of said plan, I think we might actually be better off that way. Manpower's insurance plans suck -serious- amounts of ass, and not in the good way. Between my meals, the doc fee, prescriptions, gas, and parking.... we're already burning into this month's mortgage payment. The shopping run and additional prescription are going to eat further at it. I'm /HOPING/ that the folks at Household Finance will have a soul and let us do partial payments this month (HA! Guess where my -bet- is, though)... otherwise we're fubar'd. Megan'll be out of work for two weeks, which will further dent the finances.
In other words, don't stop praying, folks. o.0
In the meantime, I've got to go. Got things to get done.
*hugs*
