Several acquaintances who have been victims of home-invasions have noted that their fridges were raided. One friend had his keys stolen (and subsequently returned, strangely enough), but in the interim the thieves broke into his house and stole his pain medication from the bathroom vanity and beer and ice-cream from the fridge.
Oddly enough, it seems (at least in my limited experience) that stealing food and drink while trashing a home is par for the course.
I know, right? What the hell are they going to do with those? It's not like they can snack on them on their way back to crack-addled thief HQ or whatever place they all hang out when not ruining lives.
