For those that've missed it: LiveJournal: The Russian Bear Slashes a Social Network ... I expect some folks will panic, but I don't believe it's anywhere near the "It's dead, Jim." stage of things. Not yet. Those with largish journals should probably be archiving things as a matter of course, though.. I'll be running LJArchive tonight (again) as a backup, but it's something I do fairly regularly -anyway- so it's not out of the ordinary for me. It's not the first bump that LJ has hit, and I honestly don't believe it'll be the last. It's survived all this time and I expect it to continue to do so.

Ahh, so I'm not the only one to feel that way. [LINK] Nice to know I'm not the only one that's not running about screaming about the sky falling. Backup and then shut up. Sounds like a plan. :)

In other news, the clinic I get therapy at is being a bit dickish. Not sure where that's gonna go but it's got me more than a bit peevish. In general this hasn't been a spectacular couple of days.

In RO news I -still- haven't managed to get past the damned Wizard test. I'm in dialog with the support folks; the workaround that's supposed to kick in hasn't yet, and I've now tried the test a whopping 29 times. Annoying, to say the least. Kami's been a HUGE help; without her assistance I'd have given up.

*mutters* And now I'm gonna try for a nap.

Yeah, the whole Chicken Little thing is getting annoying quickly. I agree...backup then shut up. Do regular backups on your journal if you want to save it, and don't worry about it. There was life before LJ, and should it finally end at some point, there will be life after it. It's a convenient way to communicate with folks, but we'll all survive.

This is a good reminder to do my backup though, as I've not done one recently. Have to do that tonight...

The tool I linked, LJArchive, is simple and efficient. My journal goes back to 2000, and it archives the lot in about 20 minutes. No muss, no fuss.

*hugs*
