Jumping at shadows
Nov. 5th, 2008 07:21 pmSo as all the hoopla dies down, I find myself pondering two years of near total Democrat control. There's a lot of excellent things that could come of it, but I know all too well how the base interests of man seem to interfere with the nobler pursuits. On an evening like this one where I'm so tired that coherent thought takes effort I find it difficult to keep my mind from wandering the 'what if' lines.
So... in spite of my instincts telling me this is a REALLY bad idea ( I know all too well how prolific some of you are :p )... tell me where it can go wrong or right. Tell me what you see, be it daemons or divine.Come fondle my crystal ba... Sing to me.
And try not to go to war with each other. Again.

Troops gone from Iraq, and negotiations ongoing with Iran and some of the tribes of Afghanistan. Foreign policy wounds from the Bush years healed over and the world at large no longer loving to hate America.
Taxes cut for most middle-class/working class Americans and small businesses, but raised for rich people and wealthy corporations. I don't know why most Americans seem to pay more in taxes as a proportion of income than I do, because you don't get any kind of value for money out of it.
The economy has turned the corner and is recovering. Mortgages have been re-negotiated in some cases to allow vulnerable people to stay in their homes.
