Possibly the last entry for a bit.

I've already downed the other machine and pulled the 80gb drive from it. With a bit of luck, it'll become the replacement core drive in my primary machine. It's limping along, and allowed me to get Firefox up so that I could post this. In a few minutes I'll shut her down and pull the ailing 20gb drive out of the rack.

And pray it'll fire up one last time so that Ghost can get a good snapshot of it. I'm listening to it rasp now, and am a bit lacking in confidence/faith. IF it works, I'll be back on this afternoon. If no, well, then I'll be up to my eyeballs doing a fresh install and trying desperately to find the notepad with all the serial numbers for everything... which is why I'm frantically trying to avoid doing a new setup. *sigh* It's worth trying.

Yeep. Good luck with that. I'll be doing something similar come June, when I get my financial aid money back and buy a new laptop. only then, it will mainly be reinstalling th programs (mainly games) that I installed on the current laptop, and then just copying the directories over (or attempting to) to avoid the 13 hour download times for the various updates.
