Having failed utterly at netbooting this poor antiquated PowerBook...

Does anyone have a USB DVD drive that I could borrow for an afternoon? I'm frustrated as all hell with this, and I think my local linux guru's about fed up with this particular imossible project. :(

Its true, at first I thought they were saying early Macs didn't HAVE usb. Then I read it more clearly. I spend way to much time arguing with Microsoft fanboys. :/

But no, the older Macs boot from Firewire Devices. If you end up giving up on it let me know, I'm looking to obtain an early Mac Notebook I can play with OS9 on, preferably a "Clamshell" but Im' not rich enough to be fussy.

Starting with Tiger I never got to mess with it.

Early Macs didn't have USB. First Macs to ship with USB were the original iMacs and the Blue & White PowerMac G3. Some late-model PowerBook G3s had USB too, but the earliest didn't.

My first Mac didn't have USB. :op
