Many, many moons ago (a lot more of then than I really care to think about) my mother and I had gone to the local supermarket so she could pick up some perscriptions. I waited in the car while she was in the store and watched as a fellow rolled a cart up to his car, loaded the groceries into his car and drove off; leaving the cart to dangle in the middle of a couple parking spaces.
This cart, however, was a homing cart. Since it wanted to go back home, it started lazily rolling down the sloping parking lot. In the meantime, the man pulled out onto the street then turned in the next entryway, came down the side of the parking lot and pulled up to park in the 'no parking; fire lane' strip along the front entryway of the store...
Just in time for the homing cart to bump right into his car's fender!
Luckily for me, the gentleman couldn't see me laughing as he was cussing out the stupid MoFo that had left a cart roll back down the lot.
