Landmark!

A fairly major landmark in my eyes, dammit.

Since the surgery on the 15th, I've been making due with washcloth 'baths'. Part of it was terror that I'd somehow undo the work Doctor Grosso had done, layered in with the fears of falling and being trapped here while I was alone. Each day, it's been a bit more aggravating to me; building up as the frustration mounted.

I got a shower today. No brace, no wrappings, just me & the water & the soap & the shampoo. Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition, I'm clean. :p A bit sore, but I'm clean. I've gotten dried off enough to get the knee wrapped again; I've gotten paranoid about doing everything possible to keep it from swelling. I've got a physical therapy appointment later this afternoon, and I'm hoping for final clearance to be able to drive again.

I don't deal well with being penned up.

Modern, Cool Nerd
56 % Nerd, 69% Geek, 43% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used
to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a
pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world
that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and
geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very
least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent,
knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing
computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one
you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one
up there, winning the million bucks)!

Congratulations!

I lived on the road for a while, travelling from state to state working Renaissance Festivals (Fla, Tx, Wi, Md, and a very short-lived show in La)... that broke me /fast/ of the must-be-clean-24/7 obsession. Given the shower availability in some of those spots, staying sweaty was DECIDEDLY more healthy. :p

Geh...when I was able to actually have a shower that didn't take up the only one availble in the house, I was showering two and sometimes three times a day. x-x
