War broke out amongst the kitties tonight.
Ruby squared off against Josh... and the roar they created in the upstairs hallway was so sudden and so loud that I was on my feet with the cane held like a bat before I'd even figured out what the fsck was going on. A quick glance down the hallway showed me it'd be suicide to try and physically separate them, so I ad-libbed...

It's absolutely amazing what a lobbed 'Hello Kitty' slipper will do. It hit the floor right next to them (didn't even nail a cat... couldn't do THAT again if I had to), and Ruby shot for the stairs as Josh shot for Crys' office. I trailed Ruby down the stairs, and noted that he went straight down to the basement. Hopefully any other kitties down there will have the sense to leave him be until he chills out a bit.

It's amazing how much noise two cats can make. My first impression when the sound wall hit was that somehow the WWF had decided to host an event in the foyer...

That only works with some of the cats here... Ruby gets too focused; I don't think he hears me... and Jake (not involved in this altercation) is stone cold deaf. I know the slipper won't hurt 'em even if it thwacks 'em in the head, and that the sudden appearance of something else in thier airspace will get their attention.

The names here are all fairly normal:
Paint, Grey, Junior, Ruby, Johan, Josh, Bart, Lacey, Jake
I -think- that's oldest to youngest, as well. Crys may chime in and correct me, but I thought I remembered her telling me Paint was the oldest. Of course, I've got a second set of names in my head, as to what I associate them with:
First Lady, Emperor, Chickenshit, Grumpy, Party Animal, Hey where's MY food, More chickenshit than chickenshit, Skittish-but-friendly, and Puppy.

Jake gets the puppy apellation because he's deaf... he walks like a puppy, rather than the silence of a cat.

My cats used to bicker. The younger (and newer) one finally got upset enough to fight back at the older one, and they had this screaming fight all through the house. It was freaky. >_>
