To my eyes, the storyline was choppy and erratic; too many events shoved into a single film. The dialogue was stiff, a lot of the acting was wooden, and it left me with some mechanics and plot oriented questions:

• Why did Palpatine visibly age when using Force Lightning the first time, and then use it without noticeable effect later? Where's the consistency?
• Yoda admitting defeat after one battle? What the hell happened to Do or do not, there is no try.?
• How do you steer a starship when the engines -and- the atmospheric flaps are torn away? They were all mounted on the stern of that cruiser...
• What kind of lizard was that? Why aren't they more popular? The thing can leap down two stories without missing a step, and can outrun Grevious' air speeder. I want a lizard like that.
• When you're going to arrest someone who's just been revealed to be a Sith Lord, why the hell would ANYONE take three idiots with them that are so inept that they're all three mowed down in less than 10 seconds?

*shrugs* Oh well.


Other than that, there's very little going on, but here're the high points:

• I'm hopping about on the crutches. With toes extended, the leg will take enough of my weight to balance. A positive sign, I'm hoping.
• I won't be making the Eberron campaign I normally play in this weekend. I'm simply not coordinated enough, and I keep needing naps. Maybe next week.
• After a LOT of help from Kelly, my Gateway Solo (P-II/266, Fedora Core 1) has been converted to a wireless access point (AP). The apartment is now wireless enabled. I've got to find a way to mount the antenna a bit more stably, but that's compartively minor. When Megan's machine gets rebuilt, it's getting a cheap 802.11b card and the wire run through the hallway goes away.
• Most of my local friends are going to be away this weekend (or are already gone). Hilfie and Ray are off at GenCon, nightambre and several of her close friends are all at Otakon, Fuzzy's in Missouri meeting a girl he met through a cellphone chat, Grot's at a WarHammer tournament somewhere, and Crys and Kelly will be gearing up for their trip starting next Wednesday. Gonna be a long weekend, methinks.
• If anyone has a 5volt 2.5amp power adapter, could I borrow it? I have a purpose-built wireless AP that's also a 10/100 switch. I'd love to use it, but can't find anything to power it.

I think that's all of it. 'm gonna go find something to do now.

I think that was supposed to be the first time he'd really used those kind of Dark Force powers. The idea is that using Dark Force powers visibly corrupts you, and until that point he'd had to maintain an appearance of innocence.

OTOH, Dooku used Force Lightning in Attack of the Clones without turning into a bag of ugly, so who knows.

I think that's consistent, actually: he chose to 'do not', having realised that trying more would be futile.
