So, I've got my font's pumped up ("You know, we can afford bigger letters..." - Kelly F.) so I can actually see through the fog, and discover that [livejournal.com profile] lys1022 lobbed this music thingy at me. Since the pain meds still haven't kicked, I went ahead and did it...

1) Total volume of music on my computer(s).
30.56gb on Dollhouse
763mb on Psychotron
6.17gb on Goliath
Only duplications are live tracks. I ran out of room on Dollhouse, pending larger drives, and had to start ripping things onto Psychotron and Goliath. Music? Me? Nah... never touch the stuff...

2) The last CD I bought was:
A replacement copy of the self titled album from Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, and Howe ... after discovering that sometime during the move (and before I could get to it to rip) the original copy acquired a HUGE scratch that completely destroyed the last two tracks. No, this would not due.... fortunately someone had the re-pressing up on eBay.

3a) The last song I listened to before writing this was:
Obsession as performed by See-Saw for the .hack//SIGN OST.

3b) Song playing right now:
2 Minutes To Midnight from Iron Maiden, which just now flipped to Gypsy's Fire from Heather Alexander

4) Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me.
  1. Dreams Come True from HammerFall. It's one of the newer additions to my collection, and it's already hit the #5 slot in my 'most played' list. Anyone that knows me at all will understand why before the first chorus.
  2. Affirmation from Savage Garden... for reasons very similar to the HammerFall track. It's a bouncy, easy-to-discard-as-fluff track, but it refuses to let go of me.
  3. Heart Like An Axle from Leslie Fish. Vintage Fish material; raw, blunt, and unashamed to cut to the heart of the matter immediately. Someday I'll get to meet this woman...
  4. Walk Through The Fire from the cast of Buffy, The Vampire Slayer... the musical episode Once More, With Feeling. The first time I listened to it I discovered I was crying. It still does that to me. Someday I hope to be at a place where it doesn't.
  5. Somewhere In Time/Alone You Breathe from Savatage. *sigh* "You were never one for waiting; still I always thought you'd wait for me..."
Five songs doesn't cover it. There're at least two dozen more landmines lurking in my library; narrowing it down to five has taken almost two hours...

5) Which five people are you passing this baton to, and why?
[livejournal.com profile] nightambre - her tastes may well be as diverse as mine, which is actually kinda scary now that I think about it...
[livejournal.com profile] trajan_lj - puppy's music collection is one I lust for (among other things). I suspect he and I could kill a week easily and never listen to the same track twice...
[livejournal.com profile] dansr - because she's neat, makes her =own= really spiff music, and I wonder what she listens to when she's not performing...
[livejournal.com profile] angeliccelestia - I never seem to recognize the artists in her 'current music' tag.... which intrigues me. *peeks* What's in there, pretty one?
[livejournal.com profile] gconnor - I've been so far out of the loop that I don't even remember what the lad's music tastes -are-. Usually that's the last tidbit to go... instead, I can remember his face and voice, which are usually the first to go.

Okay, darlings. Time to pony up. *fixes font sizes* There. Should be readable.

I love Rest in Peace off the Once More With Feeling soundtrack. Unfortunately we can't figure out where that disk went to. I was pulling for her and Spike to be together the whole way, I loved Spike! :)
