From Hell's heart, I stab at thee.
For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee.

Why so many posts today? Why the Melville quote? Why nothing political?

*shakes her head sadly* Because I'm a total fisking idiot for not doublechecking my voter registration. Apparently, if I understand what I was told correctly, I was removed from the voter rolls because my mailed card went to the wrong address, and was returned as 'undeliverable'. When did I finally wake up enough to check and make sure? Yesterday. *pounds her head on her desk* So instead of being able to vote, I'm pacing the apartment, worried to the core that for some reason my one vote screws things up... and furious with myself for not getting my head out of my arse and checking up on it back when it could've made a difference. Nervous doesn't even begin to cut it... not when the race is this close.

Not when the incumbent has already tried to codify intolerance and prejudice into the Constitution.

So I'm doing my damnedest to keep myself busy... so you all get another unpacking status update.

Moving/packing/unpacking generally puts me in and interesting mood. I need to go grab another box; I'm still missing a dozen or so books that I can name, and likely another two or three dozen that're fragments in my mind. Several Steve Perry novels, a handful of Mercedes Lackey books, and three or four of David Drake's Hammer's Slammers books. On the plus side, I've found both of the Sterling Lanier books and most of my Tolkein material... and all but one of my Battle Angel Alita volumes. Yes, I'm a bookworm. It's what predated my LiveJournal and Ragnarok Online obsessions.

I've also located all of the DVDs for Gasaraki (from the diddle), which I still need to sit down and watch, and the handful of Robotech and Card Captor Sakura DVDs that I've acquired. Packed and not yet unearthed is Hell Comes To Frogtown, From Dusk Til Dawn, [livejournal.com profile] nightambre's Cowboy Bebop DVDs (which I STILL need to sit and watch) and Gundam (I don't remember which) DVDs. Also located are the fansubs of Noir (from the dolly) and the one PS2 game that was missing (Kingdom Hearts). All in all, things are coming together nicely. It's becoming very obvious that I'm going to have to purchase shelves to be mounted on the walls; while I'm not sure I could trust them with the weight of books, there're plenty of smallish nicknacks that could be put on them.

I've run laundry and dishwasher loads between boxes and arranging, trying to stay ahead of the curve. I'm going to have to prod Megan about what she wants build from the storage cube panels... I've got to get the three drawers back for the other dresser. There's at least one bag worth of clothes that I'm missing, and I don't know whether that bag is here at the apartment or down at Crystal and Kelly's.

*sighs, and settles in for what's going to be a long night watching the poll results...*

Oh no! *hugs* You've had a lot on your mind, hon. I'm glad things seem to be progressing and moving along in the moving stuff. Hopefully this will be a move :) in a positive direction for you!

I've been anything but idle, that's true enough. Still, I'm kicking myself for the oversight; it's a stupid mistake, and a worrisome one.

Well, Kerry won MD, so I hope that's a good thing for you. *hugs*

Then I guess I get to take Mister Diddy out with me. It wasn't my preference to not vote; it was an oversight.

I'm comforted by the fact that my state went with my choice of candidates... but I've got a new voter registration card sitting here at my desk to go out in tomorrow's mail so that this doesn't happen again.
