Jul. 21st, 2009 09:43 pmSo Otakon blew chunks this year. There were good moments, fun moments, and entertaining moments... the -people- moments.
Big crowds buying very little? Chunks.
Hotel internet non-functional? Chunks. (Mercy Hospital being across the street at least let us check email a couple times).
Being sick Saturday day/night? Chunks.
Shiny Desu being let back into Artist Alley? Chunks.
Nearly being locked out of the parking garage, and then very nearly being locked IN it? HUGE chunks.
Between all of that there were moments of intense weirdness augmented by huge amounts of processed sugar and caffeine. There was singing to be had, varied and wildly erratic. Tom Lehrer, Tom Smith, Tiny Tim, Ray Stevens and whatever else popped into my or Megi's fevered brains. At one point I was humming the Mister Ed song. Several of our serenades drew attention, laughter and cameraderie.
Thank God that the folks I was with were reasonable, caring and decent, else I would've gone utterly batshit insane. I annoyed passing lolitas with my camera, and the meager results of my tinkerings with my new digital camera are HERE.
