Yesterday, aside from my regular therapy appointments, was a complete loss. I can't say I'm really surprised about that, but it's still a bit of an annoyance to me. I've sifted one of the three boxes that got drug back here to my room. The second is full of medication past and present; good bits will be flushed today as I purge the no-longer-current medications, which will pretty much clear the second. The third is mixed bits that may not necessarily stay back here, but I'm hampered by the fact that the living room and dining room are completely buried in boxes. I'm hoping to find a tote that can be unloaded completely, so I can reclaim one of the dresser drawers currently sitting on the floor of Megan's room. It's looking like the biggest problem I'll be up against is music/videotape/DVD storage, but part of that will sort itself out when the living room is cleared and some of the stereo components are hooked up; the metal CD rack I have will go out there along with as many CDs as it will hold. The white Sterilite drawer stack will hold my software and the overflow CDs. All six drawers are currently stuffed full, but there'll be room to sort once the music's out of it. I really don't need the music CDs back here, since I went through and ripped everything to the hard drive in this machine.

I'm also hoping that the replacement DSL modem will show up today. I'm more than tired of dialup already. Honest. I want to be able to play RO. Or D2. Or anything else that comes up (mention was made of a SW:Galaxies account, and City Of Heroes still looks interesting).

Well, that's all I have for the moment. I'm going to turn my chat client on, but I'll be more than a bit idle trying to sort things. I need to at the very least get -my- gear strack again. Megan has class tonight, so I'll have a bit more time today. The only real question is 'Can I get anything worthwhile accomplished?.

Ciao.

Well, the three boxes that were in here already vanished rapidly. A fourth box fell just as quickly. A quick bit of rearranging isolated and protected the nest of wires under my desk, and Vicky got some floor time. A fifth container sits at my feet, half emptied; I'm going to have to get some netting for one corner to make a stuffed animal hammock. The wood jigsaw puzzle I got a a few years back as a Yule gift is on one corner of my desk, assembled. My fears that a piece or two was missing proved to be mere paranoia - it's in need of a wipe with some of the furniture polish wipes I have here somewhere, but it's still very pretty.

I tweaked my wiring and popped the director's cut of Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan into the Playstation 2, turned on the commentary from Nicholas Meyer, and let it roll. It gives me some background noise, provided it doesn't suck me in. :p

I need to ....

I need to stop forgetting I've got a journal entry in progress, and leave it half typed for two hours. :p Number five is done. Booyah, or something. Hrm. Anyway, off I go again.

From Hell's heart, I stab at thee.
For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee.

Why so many posts today? Why the Melville quote? Why nothing political?

*shakes her head sadly* Because I'm a total fisking idiot for not doublechecking my voter registration. Apparently, if I understand what I was told correctly, I was removed from the voter rolls because my mailed card went to the wrong address, and was returned as 'undeliverable'. When did I finally wake up enough to check and make sure? Yesterday. *pounds her head on her desk* So instead of being able to vote, I'm pacing the apartment, worried to the core that for some reason my one vote screws things up... and furious with myself for not getting my head out of my arse and checking up on it back when it could've made a difference. Nervous doesn't even begin to cut it... not when the race is this close.

Not when the incumbent has already tried to codify intolerance and prejudice into the Constitution.

So I'm doing my damnedest to keep myself busy... so you all get another unpacking status update.

Moving/packing/unpacking generally puts me in and interesting mood. I need to go grab another box; I'm still missing a dozen or so books that I can name, and likely another two or three dozen that're fragments in my mind. Several Steve Perry novels, a handful of Mercedes Lackey books, and three or four of David Drake's Hammer's Slammers books. On the plus side, I've found both of the Sterling Lanier books and most of my Tolkein material... and all but one of my Battle Angel Alita volumes. Yes, I'm a bookworm. It's what predated my LiveJournal and Ragnarok Online obsessions.

I've also located all of the DVDs for Gasaraki (from the diddle), which I still need to sit down and watch, and the handful of Robotech and Card Captor Sakura DVDs that I've acquired. Packed and not yet unearthed is Hell Comes To Frogtown, From Dusk Til Dawn, [livejournal.com profile] nightambre's Cowboy Bebop DVDs (which I STILL need to sit and watch) and Gundam (I don't remember which) DVDs. Also located are the fansubs of Noir (from the dolly) and the one PS2 game that was missing (Kingdom Hearts). All in all, things are coming together nicely. It's becoming very obvious that I'm going to have to purchase shelves to be mounted on the walls; while I'm not sure I could trust them with the weight of books, there're plenty of smallish nicknacks that could be put on them.

I've run laundry and dishwasher loads between boxes and arranging, trying to stay ahead of the curve. I'm going to have to prod Megan about what she wants build from the storage cube panels... I've got to get the three drawers back for the other dresser. There's at least one bag worth of clothes that I'm missing, and I don't know whether that bag is here at the apartment or down at Crystal and Kelly's.

*sighs, and settles in for what's going to be a long night watching the poll results...*
