Wow. Just... wow.

It's been a really good day, it honestly has. Fun abounded through a handful of chats, and I honestly have to say I feel more warm and loved than I thought I was capable of reaching anymore. Affection, cuddles, funny stories, music, personal passions, and a lot of very excellent company. If this holds (knock on wood), an Ellie in good spirits will thoroughly freak out her therapist. *giggles softly* Should be entertaining.

In addition to the absolutely marvelous company, I've been working diligently on my efforts to consolidate my music library. It's been an extensive project, one that very nearly drove me to distraction, but it's not been without rewards. By starting out with the fresh ripping of every cd I owned, I unearthed some treasures thought lost. But tonight, I found a single track from Heather Alexander... a track that caught my ear and has been playing since: Gypsy Bardic Tinker People. I'm not going to quote lyrics for the entire song, just the chorus.
Swirl and turn, Crackle and burn,
To honour life is what you’d learn
Cry and laugh,Take and give
It’s not what you have, but how you live
With the gypsy bardic tinker people

Her voice is pretty, but very focused and intent... everything I dream of coaxing my battered vocal talents back to when I finally put the cigarettes away, knowing it's likely too late already. It's a gorgeous song, though some may find the title a bit awkward. I've long been an avid fan of Leslie Fish's (not an official site, but all I could find) work; she's got a knack for hitting idiotic rules and social patterns hard and fast, with more scorn than you would think possible. Over the last six months or so, my growing passions for Tom Smith have been fed. I had heard of Heather Alexander's work, but my music collection was in utter disorder, and there's simply been no unallocated money for something most would consider a luxury. *shrugs* Music is and always has been a foundation stone for me, but I'm aware that most either wouldn't understand or simply aren't that way; it's certainly not a failing, it's just how folks are built. Yes, I'm babbling. Get over it, okay? ;p

In the home stretch, I found this one file. I don't know where it came from... and really don't care. The album it's on is now at the top of my wish list. Yeah, I found something I want more than Savatage's Poets and Madmen release. *wry chuckle* There're one or two out there that might still be reading that'll understand that. :p *settles back in her chair, singing along* Yeah. It's a good way to wrap the day. *purrs contentedly* I'm going to sit here and sip my tea until the meds kick, and then call it a night. It's been a fabulous day. Thank you. You know who you are (and yes, you too, rufflebritches).
