I have a goal.

My goal is, regardless of cost, to be a size 14 or size 16.

The intermediate goal, however, is bit more reasonable: size 22.

There are ... garments... that I want. Badly. The larger ones go up to a 22. But even the smallest goes to a 14. Therefore, I will lose weight.

And by the time I've managed that, hopefully $127 for a dress won't bankrupt me.
