Aug. 24th, 2003 08:36 pmIt's been a ... surprising weekend. The much lamented 'family party' actually proved to be entertaining for the bit of it I joined. People seemed to be at ease, and the undercurrent of anger was notably absent. It was very nearly -fun-, which surprised both Megan and I both. What followed afterwards was the shock of the year, though; a long overdue heart-to-heart with Megan's dad. An amazing abount of 'stuff' was aired, sorted, and dealt with at long last, in a conversation that was equal parts humor and regret. On the whole, I have to say that this has been an impressively good weekend. While I've missed my online access horribly, and missed the folks I spend my time with, this hasn't been a bad experience.
I'm looking forward to getting home, though; there's still an awful lot of things to get sorted out. And God help me, the underwear that Megan packed for me are TOO FREAKIN SMALL! o.0 So finding a pair of undies that -fit- are my #1 priority when we hit home. *chuckle* It's a good weekend when the worst I have to complain about is the fit of my panties. :p Followed by getting the air conditioner fired up in the bedroom, and then firing up my machine and getting the LAN back up.
I've a bit of paperwork to check that relates to the 7th Sea game to make sure that character sheets match, and then settle in to try and parse the how-to guide for styles and such for livejournal. In particular, I'm looking to try and do something niftyish for the new journal I opened for Clarissa, and finally do something original with -this- journal. Maybe. Of course, there's my webpage that's still languishing in a cobwebbed state. One of these days.
In the meantime, this entry's being typed at the table out on the patio of the shore house; it's such a lovely day, I opted to take my geekishness outside and actually get some fresh air. Of course, I'm sitting here smoking while I'm doing it, so go figure. :p So I'm going to wrap this one up... I'll post it when I get home, so folks will know I'm back and safe.
