Jul. 13th, 2003 09:47 pmThat.... could have gone better.
Megan and her father squared off for almost three solid hours of shouting at each other. Religion, control, and me were the big topics. In the end, not one d@mned thing was resolved.
And me? I hid. That's what bunnies do. Had the shouting been aimed AT me, the fight/flight reflexes would likely have flipped the other way; I've a nasty habit of mirroring and magnifying agression back at the instigator. It was a useful thing to have on-hand when I was working as a bouncer or skip-tracer... and now that it's outlived its usefulness, I can't find the blasted 'OFF' switch for it. :/
After they'd stormed to separate ends of the house, I cleaned up the emotional wreckage with both Megan and my mother-in-law. There's little that can be done about my own pain; when I can help others I'm still willing to make the effort. Hopefully I did some good, though I'll be happy so long as I did no further damage.
I managed to get us most of the way home. Right about the time we hit I-695, my vision went double as we traversed a curve. At 65mph, that can be a bad thing indeed. Megan drove the final 15minutes to get us home. I'm fighting the doubled vision now; there're too many folk whom I've missed, and I need some vegetation time...
And since I'm probably rambling, I'll wander off here. Love to you all,
