Apr. 29th, 2004 10:24 pmOkay, so I pillaged this from
ironman... and laughed until my ribs hurt. Why? Beats the hell outta me...
It's been another quiet day. Megan got home around 1pm, so I was able to run up to the county office and finally pay the property taxes (Yes, Crystal, they're paid. Thank you.). Megan's off galivanting about with some of her friends; with a bit of luck she'll meet some (hopefully rich) man and fall madly in love and go away. :p
I've spent a good deal of time wandering around on Tiger Direct's website, and found a bunch of things that fall into the 'gee, I wish I had a money tree in the back yard' category. I'm gonna note some of the more interesting bits here... maybe someone reading is looking for a deal on some of this stuff. I'd like to know that /somebody/ profited from my window shopping. :)
And then I wandered over to FrozenCPU and did more window shopping...
There's a lot of really interesting stuff on the FrozenCPU site, but most of it's out of the price ranges of normal folks. *looks around* I don't remember any of you having so much money that you'd, for example, sink $1000+ into a computer case. :) But it does make for some really nifty looking about. I've been wandering around on case mod sites since Kelly showed me some of the stuff that was turning up on Mini ITX... there's a Millenium Falcon conversion that's really wild. Very neat stuff, and it looks like it'd be a fun thing to get into. It's something that's been filed away as a potential, you know?
*chuckles* And given that we're apparently rolling into Cicada Season, the music is just appropriate. We've got about a month left before we get Brood X. I remember Brood X well; they last popped up in '87, and the place I was living at seemed to be at the center of a swarm of the bastards. Having picked many dozen of them out of the grill of the car I had at the time, I'm not particularly looking forward to them.
Anyway, that's all I have.
EDIT: Fixed the rogue table code that was boogering things up. Sorry about the minute or so of chaos...

| Chieftec Full Tower Case with Side Window | Yes, I know it's bright yellow... one of these days I'll own one. |
| Ultra UV Bundle | Nifty cold cathode blacklights and glowing fan caps. |
| Red UV Reactive Kit | Things that glow red under UV lighting. *grins* Yes, there's a pattern here. :) |
| 256mb DDR PC2100 by Kingston | So shoot me. It's one of the two pieces I lack to build up the other Athlon XP 2000+ system. |
| Kingwin Socket A CPU Cooler | The other piece I'm missing. I'm hoping to pick up both pieces through my mom. Dunno iff that'll happen, but I can hope. |
| TDK AID+420 - Recertified | A DVD burner for under $70. Anyone needing one? |
| Ultra 128MB USB Flash Drive with MP3 Player (Open Box) | Yeah, it's a return. But it works and it's under $55 bucks! :) |

| Phoenix UV Reactive Applique | In yellow, this is where the yellow case and UV/red lighting kits tie together. I think it'd be rather pretty, but I know my sense of fashion's a bit different than most peoples. But it's still really nifty stuff! |
| Spire WhisperRock IV | I think that's probably the prettiest fan/sink combo I've seen. Given that it's an 80mm fan atop it, it's easily changeable to match any color scheme. But with a noise level at a mere 21db, it's pretty sweet. |
| Laser Etched Window Kits | I've always been a fan of etched glass art... the detail in some of these is amazing, and they do custom work as well. |
