cabbitzillaAnd another year is sealed shut, with me no closer to my ultimate goals. Given the current situation, there's really not much I can do to amend that... though there's something in the works that just might bring the money problems under control.
I got a lot of well wishes. Most of the folks I consider family remembered, which is... comforting. It's nice to know I've not rubbed everyone raw in the last year. I know there're some with whom I've fallen out of favor, and one or two that IMHO need a clue-by-four upside the noggin... but I figure that's to be expected.
After all, there're more ticks in Column A then there are in Column B. That's got to count for something.
Gifts included dinner tonight (where I seriously overate, but wow was it tasty), a small box of chocolates, a lovely nail care kit, and my very own copy of Young Frankenstein. *chuckle* The lend of Alien3 was also a gift of sorts, and I've still got a pile of anime (Cowboy Bebop and G Gundam) borrowed from yet another person I consider family, so all told it's been pleasant.
I'm in good spirits at the moment... and given the way the day started, that's nothing short of miraculous. I... don't do so well when it rains. Rainy days mean the pile of ace bandages gets pulled out; the right ankle and left knee have to be stiffened or they'll not hold me. But even with the weather... it's been a decent day.
Here's to decent days. Here's to friends and family that remembered. And here's to everyone that still cares about me... I wouldn't have made it this far without you all.
Goodnight. I think I'll sleep well, tonight.
EDIT: There was another gift that should have been mentioned. Crystal visited a day or so before my birthday, and left with with enough cash to replace the rapidly-coming-apart kitchen chair which had in turn replaced my fell-right-the-fsck-to-pieces computer chair. After picking it up at Staples and a bit of assembly (with much head scratching over the instructions), I now have a nice new comfy CHAIR. *bright smile* It's wondrous! :)
