Megan went in to work this morn, and came home at noon to go down to the doc's with me. She's sick again, which means the trip up to New Jersey tonight is going to be a -real- joy.
Surprised the hell out of the doc; I've been seeing him for four years, and never once had a 'decent' or 'all right' day... until today. He just stared at me in shock, and then got the biggest smile on his face I think I've ever seen. Went over my meds, and renewed everything, then lumbered into his exam room for weight and bloodpressure checks. BP came back as 120/81 ... not bad for a post-stroke chain smoker who's (by medical definition) morbidly obese. And then I stepped up onto the scale, dreading it. Last two months, I'd weighed in at a solid 349lbs.... but not this time. This time it balanced at 338lbs... which put another huge smile on the doc's face... and one on mine as well.
Ten pounds. Not much in the grand scheme of things, but it's a /solid/ start. And last night at the gaming session Dru commented twice that I looked like I'd lost weight; at the time, I wrote it off as her not seeing me often. *shrugs* Maybe there's a difference? I dunno. Anyway...
Prescriptions are filled, car's fueled up, my stuff is packed (Megan's asleep at the moment, but promised to pack when she got up), and the stuff I need to clean up and feed the piggies has all been gotten. YAY!
Yes, I've been busy. Add that to the four loads of laundry, and it's been a full day. But I dare not try to take a nap myself... I'd never wake up enough to do the drive. With Megan sick, I don't have any hope for relief. But anyway, that's what's doing here.
We're leaving tonight, and will be gone until Saturday night; please don't think I'm ignoring you if you email/msg me. I simply don't have net access from up there unless I can locate a library. :p
