Feb. 3rd, 2002 10:44 pmWow! You know, I'd forgotten all about this thing, untill Kibbles mentioned looking for other users. I guess that means I should start keeping track of this thing again, yes?
Well, let's see. My health continues as it has been, ragged at best, but at least I'm almost mobile. Granted, all it will take is another pain surge to put be back in the hospital, but for the moment I'm free of nurses and bedpans and hosp food, oh my!
My PC is still wildly unstable, but I've picked up a main to test from Mr Rudiwan... if it'll hold the Athlon 950 Tbird and run steady, then I can swap him that for the Athlon 850 Standard he has... the Kinpo 0021 mobo I have will run that, even if it's a dog. But it was free, so I can't argue too much.
The new main's a LuckyStar board, the K7VA133. It -should- do a solid job, but the tech sites warn that it's a pain to set up. Maybe Rudi'll cut me a deal and I'll just swap mainboards. That'd switch me back to the smaller tower, and give Jason back this mammoth beast I approrpiated from him.
I've unpacked the LS, and will mount it into the other tower tonight. Tomorrow I'll set up the rest, and toss a fast WinME install onto it. If it'll hold that, it'll hold most anything. A quick game of Arcanum'll tell me what kind of stability it has. :p
Anywho, I'll quit babbling. One of these days, I'll post some of my writings, and finally prove that I'm not just another girlgeek. :p
