Rumblings in the neighborhood...

cabbitzillaIssues. Everyone has 'em. I've got my share. I resent when other folks' 'issues' complicate mine needlessly.
The local police forces, in an attempt to bust the would-be armies of delinquent teenagers, cracked down on neighborhoods up the road some. The dealers, buyers, and loiterers have descended on Harundale instead, avoiding the more regular patrols elsewhere. Last night there were upwards of twenty people in the street around my house, and down into the circle below me. Normally, my house is well lit, and the hangers around avoid it because the light paints them easily for anyone that steps out the door.
The house was originally set up with three 'floodlight' style setups that are sensor driven, and the light at the front step. When the house was resided, one of the fixtures was broken (my fault, I dropped it)... it didn't get replaced at the time due to money being a little tight (if I'd known -how- tight it was going to get, I'dve done it then). To compensate for the 'dark corner', I'd put a halogen tubed bulb into the front step light. Megan spent close to two years bitching about that light and how bright it is... apparently because she likes to run out to the car at 10 or 11 at night in nothing but a t-shirt and panties. The halogen burned out about a week ago, and I didn't replace it... hoping she'd shut up and leave me alone.
It leaves the front of my house and property pitch black; the streetlamp is freakin useless, and most of the time -it- doesn't turn on. Last night, the punks took advantage of that. I've fresh dents on the Mercury, a collection of cig butts that're not my brand and fresh all over my front yard, and word from my neighbor about 'shadows' lurking in my back yard around my fence.
Megan can StFU. I've got some standard 100w bulbs; one's going in the front step light when I post this. And if any of my friends here local have a spare floodlight box for mounting on a house, I could dearly use it. I've fought too hard for this place to let a bunch of wannabe burntouts trash my neighborhood. I'm going to talk to my Da tonight and see if he's got one, in case nothing else turns up. Folks that'd normally see me online, I'll be a bit absent tonight, until I've got the perimeter secured. I'm wishing I still had the .474 revolver...
