Blizzard my left ... something or other. Yes, it's snowing. Yes, it can be a hazard, and unless you're used to it it can be a bitch to drive in. Most folks in this area haven't a clue, which makes the roads particularly dangerous for those of us that are familiar with the white stuff. I used to drive limos in worse than this. :p

Ah well. Roads will get cleared soon. Then I can go check my mail and grab the music portable from the trailer.

Hah hah. Hah. hahahah. Rural VA is getting socked in the gut - and OUR emergency responders aren't responding. Less than a mile from town and I'm.Going.Nowhere. We're shoveling and salting to basically pretreat. We'll probably have to do it another two or three times. I am NOT a snowbunny. (or cabbit)

Also in rural VA, we're literally snowed in. I'm ten minutes from the nearest grocery store and I'm glad we're not dependent on the grid for heat, even if it is a pain in the arse to chop wood for the wood stove. If we lose power, we're going to be chucking frozen chicken into the snowbanks this area hasn't seen in YEARS to keep them from spoiling and cooking dinner on top of the cast iron stove. :} I'm from the frozen North and this is a blizzard, even by my standards.

I just got in from being out in the snow. The accumulation in Arlington is probably 8" so far, though it's drifting so in some places it's shallower and others it's much deeper. That's not so bad, but right now the winds are high and the snowfall is fast, and visibility is about 20 feet and getting worse quickly. It won't last long enough to be a true blizzard, but right now the conditions are right for it.

But where was the promised thundersnow?

Two feet outside here. I can't open the front door and Dad managed to clear a teensy space on the back deck so he can grab a smoke. The valley is SOCKED IN.
