I'd be sad if LJ up and disappeared, but it wouldn't be the first service I saw the bitter end of.
I was a one of the section leaders for the Spinning and Weaving section of the Fibercrafts Forum on Compuserve. Kept the forums neat and tidy. Moved off topic threads. Promoted discussion, etc... Did that "job" for nearly ten years. We were all volunteers there. Then Compuserve sold all its crafting content to Better Homes and Gardens and they up and closed us down. And now when you say Compuserve, 90% of the people will give you the "huh? WTF is that?" reaction.
I'd miss LJ if it wasn't here because it's just so convenient to see what a group of friends has posted in one spot than to have to go to various personal sites. I love reading bad_service and some of the knitting forums as well. But life would go on.
How does that phrase go? The only thing that is constant is change.
