cabbitzillaFor those of you that do video encoding, decoding and/or recoding, I'd like to offer a link to a truly amazing piece of software: SUPER.
It's a bit twitchy in spots, but thus far I've not found anything it couldn't handle. It's been useful for recoding the MP4 fansubs I have back down to MP2 where I can burn them out as proper DVDs, complete with nifty little menus. The burning is done via Nero, which is not free, sadly, but SUPER handles everything but the transcode to .vob files. I'm fairly certain it would do that as well, but I'm fond of the way the Nero-made discs run in a standard DVD player. I'm NOT pleased with Nero on other fronts; my supposedly unlimited license for Nero 7 'expired' when it came to the MP4s, which is why I'm having to recode them.
Getting back to SUPER... I've only had it choke on one file, and I believe it's because I set the options wrong. When it finishes the current recode pass I'll double check it. But I wanted to offer a link to it in case others were in need of something of this sort. Toodles.
