Well, shoot, gal, I TOLD you to move to Texas! We ALL have weapons here! It's been like shooting fish in a barrel! Of course, it helps that most of the people I care about have training with things like swords and stuff too (though, surprisingly, I've found the hand axes to be more effective so far).
Right now I'm about to leave to rendezvous with a bunch of other ren-folke at faire site. It's far enough out in the country that we'll be away from the crowds and it's easily defensible. Not to mention the nice stock of black powder and the working cannon.
There's wi-fi there, so we'll update you from someone's laptop once we're there.
