Gus has gone home to be with Ollie and Kweepie. The apartment's AC self-destructed over the weekend... and the heat was too much for him. He was fine when I checked water at 1:30, and was eager for his treat and as active and chipper as ever.
When I went to clean the cages at 4:30, he was almost gone. He lasted long enough for me to scoop him up, and then he went still. My baby boy's left me behind, crossing the bridge to be with the buddies he's missed for so long.
He was such a good little boy. He never bit me, never complained, and was always the first to greet me when I'd get home. Since I started playing WoW, he's been my guardian, sitting in my lap and wheeking at the monsters when I didn't react to them coming. All he ever wanted out of life was one more carrot and a bit more cuddling, and now he's gone and i'm an utter wreck.
