Or... Yet Another Movie Post.

Megan's away and I'm trying to relax. Cope. :p

The second D&D film, Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God, actually manages to redeem the name from the dreckish eye-candy-heavy first film in the chain. There's a plot, there're puzzles, and it's not all goody goody. In fact, as the 'heroes' gathered, I found myself thinking that it stacked up a lot like the tabletop group I play in (when I can get my shite together, that is). There's a snarky, cocky thief (... that's awful. I can't remember the lad's name... and I usually sit by him... finding someone else who's a follower of the Dark Six is rare, after all...), a headstrong berserker barbarian (hi there, Ack. Nice rack. When'd you become a chick?), the cleric who natters on about higher powers and nobody ever really understands 'em (sometimes me, lately my clerics have been totally off the rails daft, though), the 'heroic' leader type (which could also be Ack, but could well be Jon), and the obtuse-but-still-relatively-pure arcanist (hi there, Nette. *smooch*). Nothing ever goes exactly as planned, but everyone tries REALLY hard to make it seem like they 'meant to do that'. :) Anyway, I liked it. Quite nice, and the effects were decent as well.

I also had a chance to finally see the original Godzilla film this morning, and was genuinely surprised at how engrossing it was. Of course, the last five minutes reveals it to be at heart a mid-50's anti-nuclear protest, but it was still a solid movie.

I watched about a third of the Family Guy movie. ... ... Well, I just don't get it, to be honest. I know a lot of my friends are die-hard FG fans, but I'm just... unimpressed. Too many side jokes and distracting cut-scenes; I ended up feeling like I was drunk, stoned, and watching Bakshi's Wizards again. {As a side note... I do not, [repeat][underscore]NOT recommend watching Wizards in an 'altered' state. Some folks won't even notice it, and others will be marked for life by the experience. Just trust me on this one.} I shut it off and moved on. Not my thing.

Take the Rate My Life Quiz

Your Life Analysis:

Life: Your life rating is a score of the sum total of your life,
and accounts for how satisfied, successful, balanced, capable,
valuable, and happy you are. The quiz attempts to put a number on the
summation of all of these things, based on your answers. Your life
score is on the low end. Making key changes to different aspects of
your life will bring you greater fulfillment. Do not be discouraged.
Seek help outside yourself if need be. There is always time to change,
and change will bring many rewards. (Read more on improving your life)

Mind: Your mind rating is a score of your mind's clarity,
ability, and health. Higher scores indicate an advancement in
knowledge, clear and capable thinking, high mental health, and pure
thought free of interference. Your mind score is rather low, which
means that your mental state is not in tune. Learn to filter out the
noise of everyday life. Unplug, relax, read a good book. Take up a new
area of study. Simplify and focus your mental energy and your mind
function will improve.

Body: Your body rating measures your body's health, fitness, and
general wellness. A healthy body contributes to a happy life, however
many of us are lacking in this area. You have a very low body score,
indicating that your physical health is not in a good condition. You
must redouble your focus on improving your body, through nutrition,
exercise, and stress reduction. Bodily damage accumulates, so do not
delay your healing.

Spirit: Your spirit rating seeks to capture in a number that
elusive quality which is found in your faith, your attitude, and your
philosophy on life. A higher score indicates a greater sense of inner
peace and balance. You seem to be lacking in spirit. Improve your score
by refining your beliefs and searching for answers to philosophical
questions. Consider new belief systems if your current beliefs are not
rewarding you.

Friends/Family: Your friends and family rating measures your
relationships with those around you, and is based on how large,
healthy, and dependable your social network is.
Your friends and family score suffers, yet it does not need to be this
way. Strengthen your social network by reaffirming old bonds. Seek out
new friendships, and they will provide you the reward you need. Try
using MeetUp.com to find people near you who share your interests.

Love: Your love rating is a measure of your current romantic
situation. Sharing your heart with another person is one of life's most
glorious, terrifying, rewarding experiences. Your love score is very
low, indicating trouble. There is love out there for you. Seek the
advice of wise people on how to go about finding it. Do not lose hope.

Finance: Your finance rating is a score that rates your current
financial health and stability.
Your finance score indicates that your financial situation is in
disarray. This is an all-too-common problem. Do what you can to live
within your means while improving your financial prospects for the
future.

Guy Smiley
You scored 75% Organization, 70% abstract, and 27% extroverted!
This test measured 3 variables.

First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.

Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.

Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert.
By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an
extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was
somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more
about herself.

You are very organized, more abstract, and more introverted.

Here is why are you Guy Smiley.

You are both very organized. You almost always
know where your belongings are and you prefer things neat. You may even
enjoy cleaning and find it therapeutic. Guy Smiley uses his
organization to assure that his gameshow runs smoothly and that he is
always dressed appropriately.

You both are abstract thinkers. Guy Smiley uses his imagination to come
up with ridiculous game shows. You definitely are not afraid to take
chances in life. You only live once. You may notice others around you
playing it safe, but you are more concerned with not compromising your
desires, and getting everything you can out of life. This is a very
romantic approach to life, but hopefully you are also grounded enough
to get by.

You are both introverted. At first glance Guy Smiley may appear to be
an extrovert given he hosts a popular show. But in reality he struggles
to relate with other people. His prizes tend to just be Guy Smiley
merchandise. For whatever reason you are a bit uncomfortable in social
settings.. You may have one or two people that you are close with.
You'd rather do things by yourself and you dislike working in groups
where things are always so inefficient.

The other possible characters are

Oscar the Grouch

Bert

Snuffleupagus

Ernie

Elmo

Kermit the Frog

Grover

Cookie Monster

Big Bird

The Count
