A Puzzle...
Dec. 22nd, 2004 01:25 amI finally got around to opening my mail from today about an hour ago. In it was a small brown box addressed to Elisabeth M. ...
Someone sent me a GBA. Postmarked from Montana... where I know absolutely -nobody-. Typed address label on the package, so no clues to be had there. Unit is marked 'used, function 100%' on a sticker on the back (also typed). Also in the box was a little light thingamabob that snaps onto the top of it, also marked used and also working just fine.
And a typed note inside: Something is coming. Be patient.
Someone's playing games with me... or sending me a game to play with them. But I can honestly say that to the best of my knowledge I don't know a soul in Montana. It's a wonderful surprise; it'll give me something small to keep me occupied when I'm stuck at various relative's houses.
I'd really like to thank -someone- for it. Please?
What's kinda odd is that I myself have never owned a piece of Nintendo hardware... the NES and SNES systems here are Megan's... the Sega Genesis and addons are mine.
And it's purple! The only way it could even -possibly- be better would be pastel pink, which really would look damned silly. It's just my luck that my favorite color makes my skin look green. Purple and yellow step up behind it...which means it's from someone who knows me well enough to know how my color faves are ranked (or it's a damned amazing guess).
Someone? Please?

Keep in mind, that thanks to the 'used' system within amazon and other companies, all someone from a state you know would have to do is tell the seller: 'No packing slip, add this note'.

Date: 2004-12-22 10:12 pm (UTC)They were not pastel as such, more of transluscent pink, like they were made of hard candy. "I used to get an endless kick out of peoples reactions to me playing Wolfenstein 3D on my candy pink GBA"
It was so ME somehow.
I traded it in on an GBA SP "plain silver", but I love the backlight.
Funny thing is, all I do with it is play Tetris. and not the newer one the original 1989 cartrige, I'm looking through my junk for my original style gameboy brick, "Original, but clear cased" If I'm going to play the retro game I might as well play it on the retro machine. It scares kids! ;)
