Wasted: One Full Day
Oct. 10th, 2004 05:13 pmSalt water rinses every hour or so are keeping my mouth mostly sane.
Gentleman with the truck got shanked -again- today by U-Haul... and rather than reschedule -again-, he drafted his son (who had the misfortune of stopping by for a visit) and the F-350 dually that he drives, hooked an old contracter trailer to it, and we were in business.
Tan sofa, both chairs, sewing machine, all sitting in the basement here where I'm house-sitting. Both beds, both dressers (my room is much bigger than I thought!), remaining end tables, all in the apartment in something resembling final configuration. I've got the rest of the clothes and bedding here, to be offloaded and run through the washer (my God, it never ends!). We'll make another Glen Burnie -> Columbia run tonight with the lamps and more of the totes.
What's left at the Glen Burnie house is all small stuff with the exception of my desk... which is small enough to go into the Explorer without much difficulty. Most of what's left is small stuff and a lot of unpacking. For the first time, I can actually -see- the light at the end of the tunnel, rather than just try to bolster my confidence with assurances that it exists.
Megan will be sleeping at the apartment tonight. Rah, rah, rah, and all that happy crap.
nightambre, sweetie, if you and Jon want to help and are available this evening (in 1.5 ->2 hours), respond here and I'll call you from the house when we get back.
Off to the races.
