- ThinkGeek may well be the nicest business around. When they discovered that DHL had left my box in the hallway of my apartment building, they Next Day'd a replacement via UPS at no additional charge.
- DHL took longer. It took three full days for DHL to finally admit that a) the driver had violated policy by leaving the parcel in the hallway and b) that there was no sign of it anywhere. I really hope the folks at ThinkGeek ram it down -hard-... and I highly doubt I will EVER use DHL voluntarily again.
- The US Postal Service is also braindamaged; they 'delivered' my replacement laptop power brick to a random person in the entryway of my building in return for a signature that's completely illegible. I honestly thought this one was a write-off (Lord knows I'd get nowhere trying to hammer on the Post Orifice)... until I went to clean Molly's cage. There on my patio table was a small brown box. No shipping tags, no postage, not even sealed. Inside lay the missing power brick. I'm surrounded by thieves, but at least when they can't use it they return it. :p
- It should be noted that NOTHING should be shipped directly to me. If you need to send me something then contact me for a 'safe' address. If you're trying to get something to me sneaky-like as a gift or something... well, I'm sorry. It's just not safe to have things sent here anymore. Most of the apartments in this building have changed hands once (some twice) in the two years I've been here, and obviously someone is less than scrupulous.
- ... I had more stuff, but it's all gone now. :( I opened my refrigerator and was horrified by the funk. Time to go do something about that, methinks.
