It's been a very long and difficult day. My euphoria at the good news from the physical therapy appointment seems to have created yet another episode of overdoing things; the pain woke me up this morning sharply enough that I jackknifed in bed and collided head first with the wall.

I'd been sleeping on my side. Ow.

Anyway, on with the show. Should any over you beIn Nomine fans, you might get a kick out of this. It provided more than a few giggles for me.

... which shouldn't really surprise anyone. I've drifted too much for my patter to be localized. It's only been the last couple years that 'soda' replaced 'pop' again, and I'd be willing to bet that three days in Illinois would undo it. :p

I had more nifty stuffus, but Firefox crashed on me (first time in almost six months) and it vanished. Ah well. G'nite, world.

And off to therapy I go, as soon as Crys (today's lucky winner in the 'Shuttle Ellie Around' contest) gets here.

"If everyone pushed towards recovery the way you do, I'd be out of a job."

Thus said the phys therapist. Sorry, Jay. You're a real nice guy and I like you and all, but the brace and crutches are a right pain in the ass. I've been told to ditch the brace, keep the crutches, and move slow and careful. Today's therapy session included one of the gym-style bicycles for 15 minutes... which caused more havoc with my right HIP than with the stupid knee.

On a related note: that blasted ice pack is freakin COLD.

I got to ride in the front seat of a vehicle for the first time since I blew out the knee. The view is much nicer, and I feel almost human. I'm stiff and a bit sore at the moment; come evening I'll know what the full impact of today's session is. All things considered, I'm pleased with the progress... and if things continue even half as well, I'll be able to actually drive -myself- to the appointments hopefully by next week's end.

And now I'm going to sit and watch Alien vs. Predator. I'll be back in a bit.

And now I have officially seen Alien Versus Predator.

I'm disappointed. Very little suspense, wooden acting (blessedly those folk were the first to go to the great pyramid in the sky), and plot holes you could build shopping malls in.

Maybe I was expecting too much. Having read several of the discarded scripts, and actually -liking- two of them, it was a natural assumption that the one that was chosen would be visual dynamite.

No such luck. *shrug* Ah well.
