I raided this from [livejournal.com profile] ginkage... what a lovely idea. I've tinkered with it, in my glassed out almost asleep state... and rather like this. Hee. :) G'nite! Much cleaning to do tomorrow. :)

Fivefingered from [livejournal.com profile] ironman...
Abbot and Costello, revised for the new century... )

*chuckle* I thought it was cute, but it -is- a bit long, and I also didn't want to hit [livejournal.com profile] ironman with something he'd already posted. *blinks at a chat window* Coolness! K's donating (at least temporarily) a Mac G3 for me to play with. Sweet deal! :) Dunno where I'm gonna -PUT- it, but... nifty. I finally get a chance to thump on OSX for a bit, instead of my irregular rants about Winblows. :p

Fought for a bit more with the buggered code on B5. If Snoops wakes up, I've a proposition for him. Maybe it's salvageable. It's frustrating as all hell when fully 60% of the in-game code is non-functional. Worse still are the seemingly random side effects. *sigh*

Anyway. I'm going to dive back into my cleaning. Second load of laundry's already in, and I've got SOOOOO much to do before Taryn gets here. :) *smooches you all*

Back later, darlings! :)

  • Vacuum is fixed again
    • For reference, I do NOT recommend the Electrolux Series 2500 vacuum. It's a piece of junk, with the beater bar motor running completely unshielded from the intake ports. 'High End' vacuum my arse.
  • Old dresser is now stuffed into the half-a-bedroom we're now using as storage
  • Racking (after being completely rebuilt... sheesh...) is now installed in the bedroom. Megan's working on getting the clothes rolled/folded/hung and into it.
  • Fourth load of laundry's in the washer. Only three or four more and it's caught up again.
  • Bedroom (at least the visible/unburied portions of it) is vacuumed.
  • Living room is now roughly 3/5's unburied. Worst part comes now:
    • Clearing out the shelving unit by the door to put my doll collection up safely
    • Rearranging to get the piggies into better positions, so that the sleeper sofa will open
    • Vacuuming. I'm going to actually have to -sweep- it first, to prevent having to dismantle the damned Electrolux again.
    • Relocating the 'work in progress' pile of PC's to somewhere out of the way.

*pantpantpant*

What I really need here is a bulldozer...

Laundry is still rolling. Megan is surprising me, matching me nearly stride for stride with the cleaning; I think she's so astounded at the results I'm showing that she's trying to keep it rolling as long as she can.

Most of the -clothes- are washed... this load is curtains and the first of the sheets. At -least- two more loads of sheets, followed by a minimum of three loads of towels. At that point, I'll strip and wash down, and run one final load of wash (a towel, a washcloth, the clothes I have on, and anything else that's turned up).

Wouldn't be so bad if the temperature in the house hadn't climbed into the low nineties; a combination of the dryer running steady for nearly seven hours, my body heat, and the continued failure of the window AC in the bedroom. I desperately wish I had the couple hundred dollars needed to replace that one, but we're still just barely scraping through with mortgages and medications.

Remembered to eat... probably a good thing.

My living room... has a FLOOR. :p And the piggies are mega freaked by all the bustle. Poor dears. Anyway, back to the grinder with me...

Collapse.

It's a combination of a) exhaustion, b) overheating (me), and c) frustration and rage.

The living room itself is done, with the exception of a thorough vacuuming. Yes, you guessed it, the f$cking Electrolux is plugged. This is the third time TODAY, since I completely dismantled it and cleaned it from top to bottom. And I'm too f$cking tired to disassemble the f$cking vacuum and f$cking unplug it AGAIN.

Fallback position A is to attempt to borrow my neighbor's vacuum and do a full sweep of the place.
Fallback position B is a similar attempt, this one targeted on my Da.
Fallback position C is to warn Taryn to wear socks and say to hell with it... a compromise that feeds the rage.

But as I said, the living room is -done-. Looks darn good, too, and all of my dolls are on display (finally). Laundry's getting to the point where I'm continuing to run loads, and as they come out of the dryer they get shuttled back to Megan. She collapsed about an hour ago, but has still been folding the stuff I'm carting back to her. The mound of clean laundry behind me is dwinding... an armful gets added to each dryer load. So by mid-day tomorrow, the wasteland behind me will be clean again.

*sigh* And the DSL's wonking out now too. Great. Maybe it'll stabilize long enough for me to get this out. I'm so tired I'm sorta listing off to one side. Ten solid hours of cleaning is... quite likely way more than I should push. *blinks* F$ck. The living room is -not- done... I've not excavated the blue sofa yet. *exhale* Gonna have to wait for a bit. I need to sit, and let my body cycle down a bit.

*looks up at the DSL modem and sighs again* So much for that. Time to swap lines again... There. Hopefully Mindspring will cooperate tonight. ANyway, I... feel the need to crush, dismember, and destroy. D2.

Ciao.
