Since I can't seem to sleep...

I enjoy webcomix, webmanga, whatever you want to call them. At one point, there were thirty seven different pieces that I followed. Honest. And that's after several long-defunct pieces were removed. Recently, I've begun bringing myself back up to speed on them, some as much as a year and a half behind.

Unicorn Jelly wrapped and is done. I've finished reading... and still don't really understand. Next time I've got a half (or better) set of wits, I'm going to ask Rowan; I'm fairly sure -she- understood it, and she's generally in tune enough with me to translate when I get lost. Bless her.

I stayed current on Megatokyo, the syndicated Dilbert, Calvin and Hobbes, SinFest, and Dork Tower. And I brought myself completely back up to speed on Freefall earlier today.

Acid Reflux seems to be dead. The strip hasn't updated since January, the page since February. 'tis a shame, because I really liked it a lot.

As some of my friend are aware, I'm working on bringing myself up to speed on Under the Lemon Tree. While I may have some philosophical differences with the writer, it's sweet and gentle and really cute. Heartwarming.

There're twenty nine more strips to poke at. I suspect more than a couple of them are now dead or missing in action. Fortunately, it looks like El Goonish Shive, 8 Bit Theatre, Bob and George, and several others that were high on my list of favorites are still updating and running.

Exploitation Now, wrapped up last fall. It was a favorite, and I miss it, but the writer had accomplished what was intended. Ah well. :p

I remain saddened that Chris Morrison felt the need to abandon the plot-driven comic he'd built Polymer City Chronicles into. There are scads of strips out there for one shot laughs and cheap amusements; the strips that actually had story continuity and plot tension are INCREDIBLY rare. It remains in my list... I'll keep reading... but it saddens me when artistic integrity takes a back seat to cheap amusements. :( I'm aware there were financial and time constraint issues involved. I'm also aware that segments of the PCC fans were whining and moaning about it 'taking so long'. But I've always felt that a good story was well worth waiting for... and I keep hoping and praying that Mr Morrison will return to the story arc he abandoned. I miss it. I miss it enough to put up with the one shot fillers, in hopes that the story I fell for will come back.

Bruno the Bandit, Demonology 101, Frazz, Kevin & Kell, , Latex BLUE, Little Gamers, Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki, Nekobox, Oh My Gods!, Okashina Okashi (Strange Candy), Outsider, Unshelved, PvP, Sluggy Freelance, Something Positive, Strange Daze, Stripper's Corner, The Devil's Panties, Under Power, User Friendly, and Venus Envy all seem to still be active and updating. WOW. I'm amazed!

I need to try and get back into The Suburban Jungle. I'd stopped reading it after the cartoonist semi-abandoned Never Never... a rather imature reaction on my part. I need to be a bit more discerning on those knee-jerk reactions. At any rate, Never Never =does= seem to be getting intermittent updates; maybe the Gneech really -is- trying to find a different format for it. I really hope it's true... Never Never was among my favorite five.

And now, for whatever it's worth, you can see the kinds of things that interest me. There -are- some strips I 'sorta' follow that aren't listed here... any that make full run status will get added in.

I think I'm going to crawl back to bed, now.

*hugs*

OWIE!

Figured out why the addition's leaking so badly. Tried to go up the ladder to -fix- it, and the ladder shattered under me and flung me rather hard to the ground. Got a nice bash on my shin, a couple new holes in my t-shirt, and probably defiled several of the Elder Gods.

Grr.

*sigh
