It's been a long day. Peeling my brother in law out of his just-paid-for truck (buried deeply in a tree) was... interesting.

Everyone's okay, except for the truck. R.I.P. *sigh*

I'm ... burned down for the evening. Bed is going to be very VERY soon, now. More mayhem tomorrow as we try and peel the -truck- off the tree. It doesn't look promising; the bumper tips are meeting on the other side. I'm mostly serving as moral support for this effort; I managed to keep my sister from having a nervous breakdown when the call came in. Probably why I'm so terribly fried.

My computer has now relocated in it's entirety to the floor of the living room. This was -not- my ideal solution... I'd hoped to get the cleaning done and the desk relocated out here first, but things didn't sort out that way. It turns out that my connection woes of late were caused by a faulty phone jack in the back room.... moving out here gives me access to a different jack, and a clean connection once more. I'm not sure what happened to the other jack, it literally disintegrated in my hands as I was fumbling about for a cord. So my plans get rearranged. The little bedroom (hereafter referred to as 'Storage A' is about half cleaned. When it's laid out and organized, I can move the boxes and such from the living room and dinring room back there. Then it's a simple matter of folding a ton of laundry and I can move my desk to its' new home. Sitting on the floor and trying to type isn't my idea of comfortable. Might have to remedy that first.

The snow continues to melt, though not fast enough for my tastes. But I don't think I was consulted, so I can't really bitch about it too much.

Got the DXR2 card reinstalled in the pc. That'll let me pipe DVD's out to the television. Which, on consideration, is only just a smidge bigger than my monitor. I wonder why it was such a push priority, now. Oh well. Not the first time I've done something only to discover it's not exactly what I expected. And this -does- give me the capability to pick up the tower and wander over to my neighbor's house, where a huge widescreen tv graces the living room. I wonder if any of the stuff I have would be interesting to them. I'd really hoped I'd be able to pipe the Buffy episodes that Sapphi sent me to the TV; they lag a bit when I do fullscreen on the pc. But watching them in a window works just as well. If I get really ambitious I'll dig around and see how much hassle it'd be to re-encode them in a format the DXR2 handles. Probably more trouble than it's worth, though.

Hrm. Still having some residual problems with Earthlink. *sigh* I guess it was too much to hope for that it was such a simple fix. Rat bastards. It really is kinda sad when AOL is more stable than Earthlink. I've said such before, I think. I'm too tired to try and rummage back and see if I'm repeating myself.

Sending Endrion one of my favorite Art of Noise files. Some of their stuff is set to be rereleased, so if he likes it he can hunt some down. The cassettes I have are precious and few, and failing... I had to make mp3s of them to try and salvage the poor things... and still lost one of them. *sigh* I need to get into Record Traders and Tower Records and see what's available.... hopefully the missing pieces are among the rereleased material. Hopefully. They remain one of my favorite bands.

So very tired. 'm going to call it a night here, my darlings. Perhaps tomorrow will be a bit less draining and chaotic. We'll just have to see.

Goodnight, my friends.
*hugs*
