Ehhh...I had an ATI card, didn't do me too much good. THen again, mine was only a Rage Fury Pro, nothing special. My roommate said to try downloading the Detonator drivers from NVidia, but you said you've gone through driver foo already. :/
The GeForce cards are good...really. I use one myself, and it's hands down better than my old ATI.
