Theme. Hee. Each of the five wears a small key; I know that -four- of the five all have a special fascination with clockworks. That's something I'm going to hold off tackling till you can camp in the living room with me and listen to the entire thing, love. :p
As for the rest... each of us seems to be 'a young girl at heart' in stronger ways than is conventional. All of us are dreamers, most of us write in one form or another (and each of us maintain that our own work sucks, met with strident opposition from the others), and Kurara is (contrary to her own opinions) a talented artist. There are... ties amongst us that transcend the normal barriers of age and geography. I know the age range of the participants goes from late teens to mid-late thirties, but all of us keep coming back to -this- mindset.
My own participation in this was a brief 'wish' description given to Taryn (who footed the bill for the commission). [The description provided was 5'-ish, long black hair, elfin features... so sue me, I'm a dreamer. The docs will find a way to make me a foot shorter someday...] Taryn apparently provided details on my fashion tastes (and nailed it amazingly well, I might add).
The artist is... someone quite special. I'm very looking forward to meeting her this weekend at Otakon. I've adored her work since Rowan first pointed me at it two or more years ago, and monitor several small listservs she posts to.
