One of the many reasons I enjoy living up north, is that our laws prevent such foolinest to happens. No system is perfect but for someone to earn for an accident more than needed to cover the pain, the medication and what he/she losts from not being able to work is nut. Of course the Canadian Law system haves some flaws. Sometime it's underpaying. But reading what you just wrote, I consider it might be easier giving a lil' more than cutting on what was previously given by the Court. No legal system is perfect, but by looking and comparing with others you can learn what you can do better and what you could have done worst.
