Several sections to roll out today:
Katrina, Damages, Ineptitude, and JUST PLAIN HEARTLESS:

1. Saving me some work, some bright soul has actually begun compiling all of this political and media carnage in the wake of the disaster: Hurricane Katrina, and A Partial List of Related Mistakes, Evasions, and Deceptions. Thank you, qilora.

3. Maybe it's not entirely George W. Bush's fault that he's an idiotic chronic fuckup with delusions of greatness. After all, THIS IS HIS MOTHER. Thank you, electricsoup.

It's enough to reduce me to tears, were I not already overloaded.

Some folks are already aware that my maternal grandmother is very, very sick. She was diagnosed with primary liver cancer, already spread past the point of being operable... and too old to be able to withstand chemotherapy. We were told 'weeks to months, longer if she fights it'. *cries softly* She's done with her fighting. She's no longer eating or drinking by mouth. There's almost nothing left of her, and half the time she doesn't recognize anyone around her anymore. Home hospice care has told us that they don't expect her to make it out of next week... if she gets there at all. Should I vanish, that's where I am.

This'd be the reason why my posts ricochet from rage to avoidance.
