Both tunes are solid entries from one of the lesser known former members of KISS. The entire album stands well as a monument to what show rock should always have been. Excellent guitar work, borderline trashy lyrics, pounding drums, and anthemic power chords. Yes, I'm a relic. A throwback.
Personally, I think 95% of what's playing on the pop stations is utter sh!t. I miss songs that have more than one verse. I miss songs that weren't afraid to be a bit different, or to be distinctive in guitar, bass, or drum work. I miss music that wasn't so very blatantly recycled rubbish.
Now I've got no illusions that there weren't similar forces at work in the 80's as well; far from it, there was an onslaught of cookie-cutter bands there too. But there were the sub-scenes to flee to, then... and they've now all been overrun by more of the same garbage. I think if I have to hear the name Compton uttered by another gold-adorned music industry 'star' who's got more loot than HALF of the burb he's claiming combined I'm going to start throwing up again. 'Rap' is sterile now; the industry machine has raped it just as thoroughly as it's raped the pop/dance/top 40 scene.
Yes, I'm ranting. I'm irritated that I can surf through forty radio stations and not find a single decent song to listen to.
