Just a generally blue day...
May. 10th, 2004 05:52 pm... with nothing really specific behind it. I'd been warned by the doctor that the initial effects of the Levoxyl (Synthroid) in combination with the other meds may cause a slight shift in the depression issues, but that it would be short lived. I'm guessing that's all this is. Still, I'm generally achy and unmotivated; I know I need to keep moving, though, and that's where my focus is.
My intents for today is another strafe on the general clutter and disorder of my desk. I'm intending to rearrange a bit, setting my desk to face into the living room (and incidently, away from Megan's setup)... it'll enable me to keep the rat's nest of power cords and such a lot more ordered and neat, and somewhat deal with the fact that one of my machines is virtually inaccessible where it's at now. It'll put the DSL modem nearer to the jack as well, so I won't need the 50' cable to feed it. The phone cable is one of the worst of the cabling mess as things sit. So I'll continue clearing my desk; once everything's ordered and put away properly, I can pull the remaining machines out and move the desk.
It'll also fix the glare problem that exists now, which'll be a good thing. I'm also hoping to get things situated so that my small collection of DVDs is accessible. At present, they and my CDR spindles are all stacked atop the G3. I've got a nice pair of cut geode bookends to nestle them between, so they'll look kinda spiffy too. The monitor'll be slightly offset to one side, which will give me enough desk real estate to set that all up. The cd rack will likely end up on the end table that's currently behind me, and free that spot for the KVM and 8 port SMC hub.
The patch I put on yesterday is already trying to come off... I sweat so badly it doesn't want to stick. I'm going to ease it off and scrub my arm clean again, then use the surgical tape I've got to re-affix it in place. As expensive as they are I simply can't afford to let it fall of and put a new one on; this one has to last until Wednesday. If it's still trying to slide off tomorrow, I may opt for a new one then ... losing a day is easier to cope with than losing two.
I need to go fool with it now, before it coats my arm in the glue residue. I'll be around later, should folks want to chat.
